Caribbean Indulgence

Our Journey

It might be a little early to start thinking about a winter getaway but it might not be too early to start saving for it. This is a good lead time for a little indulgence like the BodyHoliday St Lucia if luxury is something you enjoy. Saving up for indulgences is better than mortgaging the family home yet again or maxing out the credit cards. One of things that I find helpful when saving is to know the total. Doing the research and having a good idea of what everything is going to cost helps with the next step.

I find when I’m saving up for an indulgence it is easier to tuck a little away every couple of weeks over the long term. That little bit to tuck away is as simple as knowing the big number and dividing by the time from now until you get on a plane to St Lucia. When the temptation to touch the tucked away money comes, looking at an inspirational picture of sandy beaches next to a miserable winter scene should keep naughty hands out of the cookie jar.

Added incentives can be devised to help with growing the getaway fund. Many families have a swear jar to help curb salty language. This can be allocated to some vacation extra. Want to try paragliding or book a deep sea fishing trip? Channel your best impression of a wharf rat and empty your wallet into the swear jar. At the end of the day, it is all about long term motivation when it comes to saving up for indulgences. You may like the look of that new shirt down at the shops but you will feel better with your toes in the sand and a warm breeze blowing instead of a bone chilling drizzle when January comes next year.
