Summer Reading

09.August 2012

Our Journey

Summer has a hold on me and will just not let go. I’m all about lounging in the sun, drinking beer, riding my bike, and hanging with friends. Who has time to blog?!

These people, that’s who. These are the folks I know that are just getting on the go. They are on the road, just leaving for the road, and just about on the road.

You should be checking them out.

So Many Places

Kim and Brian have already set out on their adventure, having spent weeks on the road already road-tripping through the States visiting friends, family, and National Parks along the way. Soon they head out on the international portion of their adventure and I can’t wait to see the world through Kim’s eyes. She is one of the finest writers out there and will show me the places I have already visited with a freshness and exuberance that will leave me wishing I was stowed away with them.

 20 Years Hence

Steph and Tony left yesterday for Japan; the starting point of their long term trip. I am, of course, super excited to read about their Japan adventures as we will be following closely on their heels. The only bummer part is that we won’t get to meet up there as they are leaving just as we’re arriving. I’m going to enjoy following them, though, as they make their way through their journey.

 Our Wanderlust

I found Dana and Juliano’s blog as I do many others – through the comments of blogs I love. They, however, happen to live in the same city we do so we have had the pleasure of sharing a pint (or two, or three…) with them as we swap travel dreams and stories. They leave in just over a month, heading to Florida to learn how to crew sailboats so they can sail on the great, blue sea. My favorite part of the their whole story is that Dana was born and raised here in Calgary; there is no ocean anywhere near here! Talk about adventure! I am going to miss them, their laughs, and their stories but I can’t wait to hear what they get up to!
