tgb_fbprofile-8461692I know it’s been a little thin around here lately but I’ve been hunkered down working on my new project and really haven’t been seeing much of what northern Thailand has to offer.

It’s been an exciting time though as I learn (again) about putting a site together and work my way through tweaking, building, and launching a whole new idea.

It’s One Giant Step in the direction of being able to support my new serial expat life while helping inspire others to travel.

The Global Bookshelf is the culmination of an idea born on the slopes of the Teton Mountains of Wyoming.

Hiking through the lush green meadows in the shadow of such greatness our group of intrepid hikers turned to talk of past, and upcoming, travels. It’s fast and easy chatter when you hike with a group of globe trotting travelers. Tales of Africa and India wound around stories from China and Australia. Hopes and fears of future travels were held aloft or at bay by memories of past travels.

“You know what would be great?” asked Kim. “A place where I could go to find books about all the places we’re planning on going.”

“A one-stop shop where I could find books on Chile, and India, and Thailand, and Germany, and all the places we’re planning on traveling to.

And so was born the idea of The Global Bookshelf.

It’s a place to find the best travel books connecting travelers with a world of stories. Any traveler.  Holidayers, road trippers, long term, short term, or armchair; we all love to read and dream, to plan and escape, to be inspired.

I would love it if you would check it out, LIKE the Facebook page, and find books to connect you to the next trip you’re planning!
