As the only route between Santiago, Chile and Mendoza, Argentina I knew we had to traverse it but doing so in winter seemed\u00a0asinine\u00a0to me! I prayed for good weather and obsessively checked the weather and road reports to see if it was open and what the conditions were like.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully the day dawned clear and we were on our way.
