Like much of Hanover theĀ Aegidien Church was destroyed during World War II. Most of the city was rebuilt and it remains one of the more modern cities in the country. The church, however, was never rebuilt but stays in ruin as a memorial to the ravages as war.

I really hope to explore other parts of Germany when we travel. It was such an interesting country and I enjoyed it more than I expected.
