Monday Moment: San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

Chile, Monday Moment

Lake Miniques, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile

It’s hot here in Calgary this week. I’m feeling like the dog days of summer have a firm hold on me.

Looking through my pics I’m reminded of our trip to Lake Mineques near San Pedro de Atacama in Chile…also in July. It was NOT hot!

We knew it would be chilly (no pun intended…okay, maybe!) in this region but had no idea just how close to the snow and ice we would get on this day. I think I was wearing everything I could think of!!

This image, and an icy cocktail, might just get me through the week!

I do the same thing when I find myself somewhere so hot I can practically feel the moisture being sucked out through my pores–I look at pictures from a time I remember being miserably cold. I do try to avoid pictures as nice as the one you posted; I find the it more effective to use the worst ‘cold’ pictures I can find, but obviously that wouldn’t make for a very appealing blog post.

That looks gorgeous! Really cold, but gorgeous. I so want to explore more of Chile. The couple of days I was there a few years ago was not enough.

I felt a huge icy wave hit me in the face just by looking at the shot! It must have been seriously cold there!
Have a wonderful week ahead :)
