5 Unique Things To Do In London
If you’re looking for unique things to do in London you’re in for a treat. Everyone knows that London is one of the greatest cities in the world but, if you don’t want to be stuck with the hoards visiting the same-old, same-old attractions then you’ll want to get off the beaten path and find some of these unique things to do in London (and some cool and unusual things too!).
Unique Things To Do In London
Some of the most unique things you can do in London are the things that regular Londoners do every day but that tourists might pass by in favour of Big Ben or Tower Bridge.
1. Find the twin pubs housed in the old gatehouses of the Euston Arch near the Euston Station. One of the teeny, tiny, buildings holds a pub serving traditional English ales and the other, just across the street, is a cider tap; serving all manner of crisp, clean ciders. Take a seat upstairs in the loft or spill out onto the street with your pint in hand. Unique, and oh-so-London, all at the same time.
2. Head to ‘Little Venice’ to hop on a local canal boat. You’ll motor along the old canals of London, passing through the zoo, on the way to Camden Market. Surely, plenty of people visit the rabbit warren of stalls at Camden Market, but how many get there by canal boat?
3. Take a food tour. London Food Tours is one of the most unique things to do in London, in my opinion. A walking tour filled not only with great food and drink, but also with great stories of the history of the cuisine in the area as well as a peak into the architecture and street art on the East Side.
Cool Things To Do In London
I’m so old I don’t even know if ‘being cool’ is a hip term any more, but there are plenty of cool things to do in London.
4. One of the coolest things to do is to visit Shoreditch and the East End. This historical part of the city (but really, isn’t ALL of London historical?) is filled with street art by some of the most famous artists of our time. Here you can catch a Banksy or, my favourite, ROA without even trying.
Unusual Things To Do In London
One of the most unusual things to do in London must be visiting a cemetery. The Highgate Cemetery tour is led by extremely knowledgable guides who will thrill you with stories of all those who are resting here. If you’re into ghost stories, then this is the tour for you!
See? No need to do the tried-and-true when visiting this great city. There are plenty of unique things to do in London that will fill your time and ensure that you see a side that not many have.
